Popcorn Box Blog Hop 2015

Hey guys!  Welcome to the

Wahoo!  (insert party horns blowing here!) PARTY TIME EXCELLENT!  Please tell me some of you are old enough to get that reference?!?  This crafty party is hosted by the super duper awesome and talented Laura Kelly.  This is the 3rd year she has hosted and I would love for you to see her brilliant project and read more about her HERE.  So...this is the scoop-- a bunch of spunky crafters were sent a popcorn box & some supplies, and told to create to their hearts content.  I wanted to stay with a Halloween theme.  (Shocker- since Halloween is my favorite time of year!)  This is what I came up with:
I covered the box with a layer of gesso before painting the green and black areas and stapled a ribbon handle to the inside.  (Side Note: Metal bobbins make great neck hardware!) "Franky" makes a great treat box and decor piece, but I wanted a little more from him LOL.  I decided to cut his eyes and mouth out with an X-acto knife.  Then I covered the holes with vellum, added the buttons, drew the "teeth", dropped in a (battery operated) tealight and voila...

"Franky" now doubles as a spooky little luminary!  I loved the way this turned out.  I think I am going to make a few more to line my mantle!

Say What!?
Now, no real party is complete without a prize, and we have 3 fabulous prizes up for grabs!
